Maren Kessler (Voc)
David Schwarz (Piano, Keys)
Maren Montauk is a German singer/artist/performer producing extraordinary pop music: mainly in collaboration with David Schwarz (co-composer/arranger/pianist).
“Maren Montauk sings, writes and dances to the atmospheric sounds created by keyboard artist David Schwarz. What they create with their instruments and voices is unique. Sometimes Maren Montauk appears solo with a solitary piano and autoharp, or backed by a rhythm section or DJ. Melancholy segments shift effortlessly into high-energy elements. This is multi-faceted pop.”
The concept of Maren Montauk: music is defined by the right tone.
Always on the search for new sounds, Maren Montauk works continuously with different musicians forming new and and exciting collaborations, including the Peace Song Projekt, Maren Montauk band with Ernst Bier, Wieland Jubelt, Boris Nielsen, Charles Sammons, Jörg Wähner and Stefan Weeke or electrorot with DJ Mike Kapelle or OAK with Michael Büschelmann on guitar.
Recently she colloborated with the film director Sebastian Binder. Maren Montauk composed the soundtrack for his award-winning short film, “Journey to Mars”
In 2014 Maren Montauk staged her first musical performance play, From Room To Room, combining music from OAK & electrorot with elements of composed theatre and audience participation. The play premiered in Lucerne, Switzerland in May 2014.
